Fallacy fallacy

Also called: Argument from fallacy

Concluding a claim is false because the argument for it was bad.

How to spot it

Is a faulty argument being taken as proof that the conclusion is wrong?

Example

“Your reasoning was sloppy, so you must be wrong.”

How to answer it

A bad argument leaves the claim unsupported, not disproved.
