Continuum fallacy

Also called: Sorites, Heap argument

Rejecting a distinction because there is no sharp line between the two ends.

How to spot it

Is “where exactly is the line?” offered as proof there's no difference?

Example

“There's no exact hour when day becomes night, so there's no difference.”

How to answer it

Blurry edges don't erase real differences at the extremes.
